In this Series of Audiograms (square image with animated TEXT, posted to social media accounts), I’ll be providing questions I receive about different facets of being online, and my answers.
This is the first in the Series, and is based on a Facebook question.
Why shouldn’t I upload an image to FB without a link?

Question: Teena, why shouldn’t I upload photos to Facebook without putting a link back to our web page on there?
This was a great question I got recently and I just wanted to share my answer with you. Most importantly, adding photos to Facebook is a fantastic thing of course, but if it gets shared, if it gets copied, if it gets “snapshotted” and there’s no link on there anywhere that links it to you, it can get passed around thousands or millions of times and no one knows who originated it.
So it’s always a fantastic idea that when you upload a photo to Facebook in particular, always put a link back to one of the pages on your website. It doesn’t have to be the Home page, but if the photo is to do with a page on your website or a product, put the link back to the product. If it’s a really long link, make sure you use bit.ly or Pretty Links (plugin) or something that will shorten the link for you and make sure that people see the photo, and then if they want to come back to the person who created the photo, they can easily find you.
So it’s like having a Call To Action. It’s very important to help people find you. I hope you’ve enjoyed this little tip. This is Teena Hughes from TeenaHughesOnline.com and I look forward to posting more frequently asked questions. Ciao ciao for now. Bye-Bye.
