- Create the first Comment on your video
- Ask a Question in the first Comment
- Answer every single Comment, engage with viewers
- Post weekly on the Community or Discussion Tab of the YouTube Channel
- Show the “love” on every YouTube Comment!

Today, I’m going to share six things to do for every video to speed things up. Hey, I’m Teena Hughes, YouTube Creator and author of the “50 Marketing Secrets of Successful Women” book.
- Step number one, make sure the video’s topic is what the viewers want to watch, and say the title at the start of the video — and at the start of the description on YouTube.
- Step number two, create the first Comment on each new video you post, then click the three little dots to the right of it, to select PIN so it always appears at the top of Comments for that video.
- Step number three, ask a question in that first Comment to get a reply from the viewers, and ask the same question within the video to get them to take action.
- Step number four, answer every single Comment; set aside five minutes in your calendar each day to do this quick task. YouTube loves activity when you reach out to commentors.
- Step number five, at least once a week type an update comment or question and put it on the. Community tab if you have 1,000+ subscribers or the Discussion tab, if you have less than 1,000 subscribers, talk about upcoming videos, ideas, results, things you’ve tried or would like to try, tech reviews, questions from clients and followers, et cetera. This is another great way to be found by search engine robots.

- Step number six, below each Comment, including your own, click the LIKE button and the little HEART icon.
Hey, I know I said SIX things, but I have a couple of bonuses for you as well. Here we go.
- Bonus tip number one, install the free TubeBuddy Add-on for Chrome. Watch the TubeBuddy videos for beginners to understand how to use this great tool for video titles and much more.
- Bonus tip number two, go to YouTube and click that TubeBuddy button, then click the Milestones link at the top left below the Channel Name. If you’ve reached a Milestone, download the Certificate and pat yourself on the back. Share this on the Community or Discussion tab, and in your newsletter and on social media, et cetera. Remember to check this weekly and monthly. I love that warm, fuzzy feeling when I’ve reached a milestone; what about you?
- Bonus number three, if you have a couple of minutes a day to spare, visit your new Subscribers’ Channels and post a Comment on one of their videos, or on their Discussion or Community tab to start a conversation. YouTube loves communities and conversation.

- ◾️ Create content people are SEARCHING for – this is so important.
- ◾️ Be consistent by posting weekly and answering questions people are typing into search engines and YouTube etc.
- ◾️ Remember to connect with followers and viewers by answering their Comments as quickly as possible, to keep them engaged. This is a marvellous way to build a community of people who enjoy your answers to their questions.
- ◾️ In each video, remember to mention to the viewers that subscribing to your Channel means they’ll see your videos as soon as they’re published. Remind users, followers and subscribers to your newsletter and social accounts too, and ask them questions ABOUT the videos you’re publishing on YouTube etc.
- ◾️ Have fun, and build a following of interested subscribers – ask questions, answer questions and communicate often to keep in touch.
- ◾️ Be willing to create a video to ANSWER a question — followers love to know you’re hearing them and trying to help them :-)
