Have you been wondering which hosting should you use for your website?
Let me give you some feedback on my experiences with hosting.
Over the years, I’ve tried 5 different website hosting companies for my own websites – and my client websites, and each one sounded great – at that time :-) It can often take some time to see things which aren’t quite right, or up to my standards, and I need to do some research and search for comments from other users online in groups and forums.
As a website owner, it’s really important to stay up-to-date on what’s available and which services might work best for our website’s hosting.
Over the past year I’ve seen more and more people online commenting about moving to SiteGround.com, so I’ve been asking questions and checking out the website to learn as much as I can.
Today (Feb 2023) I’ve noticed a different price which looks affordable for most folks:
I’m not sure how long this price will last, so it might be worth checking it out.

Which hosting companies are the worst?
Rather than point the finger and name “names”, I’d rather provide some of the downfalls which I’ve suffered – along with other website owners around the world whose comments I’ve read and whose videos I’ve watched, alerting others to the pitfalls.
Some of the problems experienced with cheap, less expensive Website Hosting Companies
- websites not backed up – ever
- websites hacked
- websites lost / disappeared – forever!
- limited control over server resources
- very few suitable scalability options
- with many websites being hosted on the same server, one website might perform poorly because of traffic which another website on the same server is benefitting from
- “free” website builders are often very limited in functionality and aren’t suitable to more than a 1-5 page website
- “free” website builders often do not allow the most basic search engine optimisation – SEO – to be performed, meaning the owner has little control over helping their website performance in search engines
- “free” website builders often limit the ability to sell from the website, or to accept payments for products or services
- some hosting websites insist that a domain name must be purchased through them – or if it’s already “live” it needs to be transferred to them to host the domain name — WHOA! Giant red flag for this dodgy practice!
- online Support is impossible for some of these other hosting companies, which leaves website owners feeling abandoned, dreadfully stressed and overwhelmed – and feeling totally helpless to save their business website.
SiteGround has 3 Tiers
- Start Up – for ONE website
- GrowBig – for Unlimited Websites, 20 GB Web Space
- GoGeek – for Unlimited Websites, 40 GB Web Space
I know website owners with a multitude of website niches, from accountants to acrobats to astrophysicists, who are all thrilled with their SiteGround website hosting.
I’m planning my move to SiteGround for this month, and I can’t wait!
