Google is deleting my reviews – HELP!
Have you experienced Google deleting reviews of your products or services online?
Today I saw a comment by a business owner who was distressed that Google was deleting legitimate Reviews from customers, and they were not responding to any of his emails asking how to stop this from happening.
I came up with this reply and a potential path forward
Do you have any other suggestions?
- It was great that his clients sent him snapshots of the Reviews they had left!
- I would delete/crop/cover up the G logo on each snapshot
- I would add the “review” text to the Alt tag of each image
- As we have no control over what the Big G does (and they wouldn’t reply to his questions as a concerned business owner), let’s ignore them – and take control
- I would create a page on my website called Reviews
- post the snapshots AND type the *text* of the Review onto the page (so it’s searchable by browser robots)
- I wouldn’t mention the G word anywhere
- take snapshots of the Reviews on MY page (add thumbnail images – that works well too)
- again, use the Review text as the ALT TAG on each image
for more reach, add the text to the secret SEO location (see image at right) on a Mac this is by selecting an image with one click, then press the Apple/Command key and the letter “I”; in the Comment field, paste the text, close the mini window
- on a PC, I believe the same location can be found by right-clicking on an image, and selecting (not sure here – will ask my PC-using friends)
- and here’s the best bit — this is the start of my own Mini Marketing Campaign and I’d post this new Page in as many places as possible, for example:
- other social media sites being used
- my website or blog
- my business’ Pinterest Page for Reviews (and Testimonials)
- next I’d make a slideshow in Keynote for Mac, iMovie, Powerpoint or Google Slides (these are all free), with one Review per slide
- I’d create a voiceover reading out the Reviews (mentioning the customers so they know they’re appreciated)
- I’d add a Call To Action at the end
- I would then export this presentation as a video with voiceover — and now post this video all over social media and my website too
 - this is how you do your own marketing so that many people online will see, read and watch your Reviews.
Did these tips about Google deleting my reviews help at all?
