Coffee with a bush turkey in Australia
In Australia you never know which little creature will improve your day, wherever you may be :-)
That was the case when I was meeting my friend Carolyn for coffee recently, in a bushland setting, savouring my latte while I waited … and then … holy moley! Look what walked by looking for treats the other diners might have accidentally let slip to the ground! Leftover toast, croissants, cookies, biscuits, sandwich fillings – it was a veritable feasting opportunity for creatures close to the ground :-)
For those above ground level (the birds), they were so comfortable in this cafe’s outdoor setting, the gently flew down to the tables and perused the potential buffet bits and pieces, made their choices, and flew back up into the vines surrounding this outdoor seating area.
The best thing for a human to do is ignore the creature, and surreptitiously take photos or videos – which is exactly what I did :D
What a fabulous boost to the start of my day!
Stepping outside the “work zone” whether that’s at home, in an office, or elsewhere, is a great thing to do as often as possible. It resets our brains, gives us clarity of thought, allows us to daydream for a bit, and maybe even come up with great new ideas for products, services, training to help our clients and potential customers.
